No one ever wants to find themselves in an AOG situation, yet especially with an older fleet, it happens more often than most would like to admit. Fortunately when that time comes, we'll be there for you with expedited couriers available to pick up and deliver your parts when you need them most.
We realize that hours count, and that the sooner you get that aircraft flying again, the easier it will be on your bottom line. Whether your needs require quick ground transport, airport-to-airport delivery, or an end-to-end solution, we have the experience to make it happen for you as quickly and smoothly as possible. Case Study Glances Ground Transport The company Cessna Caravan just flew into Wilkes Barre, PA from central Tennessee and the pilot noticed something wasn't quite right with the nose wheel. All those dirt strip landings had probably finally taken their toll. The problem was quickly identified by an on-field A&P and wound up grounded with a bad nosewheel strut. To save time, a new part was luckily sourced in Fairfield, NJ by 4pm- it's always better to source a regional part instead of shipping it in from the other side of the country. Given the times and distances, the most appropriate solution was rush ground transportation. Tailwind was able to pickup the part by 17:00 and arrive in Wilkes Barre, where the mechanic had it in hand by 19:00. Since he'd already started the repair, the strut was unpacked and swapped right in, signed off and ready to depart for a 7:00 departure into New Hampshire the next morning. Rush Air Delivery A Citation operator was getting extra busy with the summer travel season when a repair disruption caught them off guard. What was supposed to be a quick stop in Burlington VT resulted in a grounded Citation. Turns out that those intermittent flap indicators foreshadowed things to come. A new flap motor was needed and was luckily sourced at New Jersey's own Teterboro airport. Now, the problem was already found, so the only thing holding back the repair was having the motor on site. Good thing Tailwind was ready to step into action! Once the details were confirmed, we were able to dispatch to fly into Teterboro, taxi over to the maintenance center, grab the part and departed for Burlington within roughly 40 minutes. Upon departing Teterboro, the flight to Burlington VT took under 2 hours. As opposed to ground transportation, this saved about 4 hours of wasted downtime and the jet was able to continue on just in time to fill seats at Leesburg Executive in Virginia. Helping to expedite the repair process during your AOG can help to prevent that domino effect of revenue loss, getting you back in the air sooner, resulting in happy passengers and a healthy business.
